Desmodur\u00ae N 3600 can be thinned with esters, ketones and aromatic\u00a0hydrocarbons suchas ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, methoxypropylacetate,acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, cyclohexanone, toluene,xylene, solvent naphtha\u00ae\u00a0100 and mixtures thereof.Generally speaking, it has good compatibility with the solvents listed. However,the solutions formed must be tested for their storage stability. Only PU grade\u00a0solvents should be used (max. 0.05 % water, absence of reactive groups\u00a0such as hydroxyl or amino groups). Aliphatic hydrocarbons are unsuitable as\u00a0solvents.<\/h3>\n

Desmodur\u00aeN 3600 should not be thinned to below a solids content of 40 %.<\/h3>\n

Prolonged storage of a solution with a lower binder content may result in<\/h3>\n

turbidity and sedimentation.<\/h3>\n

Compatibility<\/b><\/strong>:<\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Generally speaking, Desmodur\u00aeN 3600 can be mixed with the following\u00a0products: Aliphatic polyisocyanates such as Desmodur\u00aeN 100, N 75, N 3200,ultra N 3300, N 3400 and Desmodur\u00aeZ \u00a04470; aromatic polyisocyanates\u00a0such as Desmodur\u00ae L\/ultra \u00a0L, HL and IL\/ultra\u00a0IL; polyester polyols such\u00a0as Desmophen\u00ae 670 and polyacrylates. However, the compatibility of the\u00a0combinations used should alwaysbe tested.<\/h3>\n

Desmodur\u00ae N 3600 is not compatible with branched polyester polyols such as\u00a0Desmophen\u00ae651 or polyether polyols such as Desmophen\u00ae 1380 BT.<\/h3>\n

Properties \/ Applications<\/b><\/strong>:<\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Desmodur\u00ae N 3600 is used primarily as the hardener component for lightfast\u00a0two-component polyurethane coatings with high resistance to chemicals and\u00a0weathering, very good gloss retention and outstanding mechanical properties.<\/h3>\n

Preferred co-reactants are polyacrylate or polyester polyols.<\/h3>\n

The main applications for systems based on Desmodur\u00aeN 3600 areair- \u00a0and \u00a0force-drying coatings for automotive OEM, automotive refinishing,transportation, industrial finishing and plastics.<\/h3>\n

On account of its low viscosity, Desmodur\u00aeN 3600 is particularly suitable for\u00a0the formulation of high-solids coatings and can also beused as the hardener\u00a0for aqueous two-component polyurethane coatings.<\/h3>\n

General information: The product is sensitive to moisture. Storage at higher\u00a0temperatureswill result in increase of color and viscosity.Storage at significant\u00a0lower temperatures will result in solidification.This solidification is reversible\u00a0by briefly heating the product without adversely affecting the quality of the\u00a0product.<\/h3>\n

Storage time\u00a0<\/b><\/strong>:<\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Covestro represents that, for a period of nine months following the day\u00a0of shipment as stated in the respective transport documents,the product\u00a0will meet the specifications orvalues set forth in section \u201cspecifications or\u00a0characteristic data\u201d above, what ever is applicable, provided that the product is\u00a0stored in full compliance with the storage conditions set forth in and referenced\u00a0under section \u201cstorage\u201d above and is otherwise handled appropriately.<\/h3>\n

The lapse of the nine months period does not necessarily mean that the\u00a0product no longer meets specifications or the set values. However, prior to\u00a0using said product, Covestrorecommends to test such a product if it still\u00a0meets the specifications or the set values.Covestro does not make any\u00a0representation regarding the product after the lapse of thenine months period\u00a0and Covestro shall not be responsible or liable in any way for the product failing\u00a0to meetspecifications or the set values after the lapse of the nine months\u00a0period.<\/h3>\n
