The product is compatible with the following solvents: ethyl acetate,butyl acetate, 1-methoxypropylacetate-2, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, cyclohexanone, toluene, xylene, solvent\u00a0naphtha\u00ae \u00a0100 and mixtures thereof.<\/h3>\n

Aliphatic hydrocarbons are unsuitable as solvents.<\/h3>\n

Desmodur\u00ae \u00a0XP\u00a02860 should not be thinned to below a solids content of 40\u00a0% by weight. Prolonged storage of a solution with lowerbindercontent may result in turbidity and sedimentation. Storage stability of the thinned product should be tested in each case.<\/h3>\n

Compatibility\u00a0<\/b><\/strong>:<\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Desmodur\u00ae \u00a0XP\u00a02860 can be blended with most Desmodur\u00ae grades,such as: Desmodur\u00ae N 75, N 100, N 3200, N 3300, N 3390, N 3400, N 3600, N\u00a03900, Z 4470, HL and IL. Compatibility is generally good with hydroxyfunctional polyesters and polyethers (Desmophen\u00ae grades) as well as hydroxy acrylates.<\/h3>\n

Properties \/ Applications\u00a0<\/b><\/strong>:<\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n

As a particularly low-viscosity polyisocyanate, Desmodur\u00ae \u00a0 XP\u00a0 2860 is particularly well suited for the formulation of high-solids coatings for general industrial coating, automotive refinishing, transportation and plastics coating applications.<\/h3>\n

Covestro represents that, for a period of nine months following the day of shipment as stated in the respective transport documents,the product will meet the specifications or values set forth in section \u201cspecifications or characteristic data\u201d above, what ever is applicable, provided that the product is stored in full compliance with the storage conditions set forth in and referenced under section \u201cstorage\u201d above and is otherwise handled appropriately. The lapse of the nine months period does not necessarily mean that the product no longer meetsspecifications or the set values. However, prior to using said product, Covestro recommends to test such a product if it still meets the specifications or the set values. Covestro does not make any representation regarding the product after the lapse of the nine months period and Covestro shall not be responsible or liable in any way for the product failing to meet specifications or the set values after the lapse of the nine months period.<\/h3>\n

This product data sheet is only valid in conjunction with the latestedition of the corresponding Safety Data Sheet. Any updating of safety-relevant information \u2013 in accordance with statutory requirements \u2013 will only be reflected in the Safety Data Sheet, copies of which will be revised and distributed. The product is used mainly as a hardener in coating materials or adhesives. The handling of coating materials or adhesives containing reactive polyisocyanates and residual monomeric HDI requires appropriate protective measures referred to in the safety data sheet. These products may therefore be used only in industrial or trade applications. They are not suitable for use in homeworker (DIY) applications.<\/h3>\n
