Solubility/Dilution

Desmodur® N75 MPA/X can be used with esters, ketones, and aromatic solvents such as: ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, Methoxypropyl acetate, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, cyclohexanone, toluene, xylene, No. 100 solvent naphtha and their mixtures for dilution. Generally have good miscibility with these solvents. However, the storage stability of the prepared solution must be tested. Polyurethane grade solvents should be used (less than 0.05% water, no reactive groups such as hydroxyl or amino groups). Aliphatic hydrocarbons are not suitable as solvents. Desmodur® N75 MPA/X should not be diluted below 40% solids. Solutions with low base content may become turbid and precipitate after long-term storage.

Compatibility

Desmodur® N75 MPA/X can generally be used with the following products. Namely: Desmodur® N3200, N3300, N3400, N3600 and Desmodur® Z4470 type aliphatic polyisocyanates; Desmodur® L, HL and IL type aromatic polyisocyanates; Desmophen® 651 and 670 type polyester polyols; Desmophen® A type polyisocyanates Acrylates; Desmophen® 1380BT-like polyether polyols. However, the compatibility of the prepared solutions must be tested.

Features/Applications

Desmodur® N75 MPA/X is mainly used as a curing agent component for lightfast two-component polyurethane coatings with good Chemical resistance, weather resistance, excellent gloss retention and excellent mechanical properties. Ideal co-reactants are polyacrylate or polyester polyols. Coating systems formulated with Desmodur® N75 MPA/X are suitable for self-drying and oven-drying applications for automotive coatings and industrial finishes such as wood, furniture, plastic finishing and corrosion protection.
