As an exceptionally low viscosity polyisocyanate, Desmodur\u00aeXP 2840 is particularly suitable for the preparation of high solids paint formulations for general industrial coatings, automotive refinish, traffic tools and plastic coatings.<\/h4>\n

Compatibility<\/h4>\n

Desmodur\u00ae XP 2840 can be mixed with most Desmodur\u00ae series products such as Desmodur\u00ae N 75, N 100, N 3200, N 3300, N 3390, N 3400, N 3600, N 3900, Z 4470, HL and IL. It is generally compatible with hydroxyfunctional polyesters, polyethers (Desmophen\u00ae series) and hydroxyacrylate series products. It
\nIt is not compatible with Desmophen\u00ae 650 and 651.<\/h4>\n

Solubility\/Dilution<\/h4>\n

This product is compatible with the following solvents:
\nEthyl acetate, butyl acetate, propylene glycol methyl ether acetate, acetone, methylethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, cyclohexanone, toluene, dimethylbenzene, solvent naphtha\u00ae 100 and mixtures thereof. Not suitable for use as a solvent for fatty hydrocarbons.<\/h4>\n

Desmodur\u00ae XP 2840 should not be diluted below 40% solids by weight. Prolonged storage of solutions with low base material content can lead to turbidity and sedimentation. The storage stability of the diluted product should be tested on a case-by-case basis.<\/h4>\n

Storage<\/h4>\n

\u2013 Store in original Crestron sealed containers.
\n\u2013 Recommended Storage Temperature: > 0 \u2013 30 \u00b0C.
\n\u2013 Protect from moisture, heat, and foreign objects.
\nGeneral Information: This product is sensitive to humidity, causing increased color and viscosity when stored at higher temperatures.<\/h4>\n

Storage Time<\/h4>\n

Crestron declares that, provided that the product has been stored in full compliance with the requirements in the \u201cStorage\u201d section above and has been properly handled, the product will meet the specifications or characteristics values (as appropriate in the circumstances) stated in the \u201cSpecifications or Characteristics Values\u201d section above within 9 months from the date of shipment stated on the shipping documents. Value (as applicable).
\nThe fact that a product exceeds the 9-month period does not mean that it no longer complies with the values set forth in the Specifications or Characteristic Values. However, Crestron recommends that products that are older than 9 months from the date of shipment be tested prior to use to verify that they continue to meet the values set forth in the specifications or characteristic values. Cognex makes no commitment and assumes no responsibility or liability for products that are more than 9 months old from the date of shipment and that do not meet the values set forth in the specifications or Characteristic Values.<\/h4>\n

This product is primarily used as a curing agent for coatings and adhesives. Handling of coatings or adhesives containing activated polyisocyanates and residual monomeric HDI requires appropriate protective measures, see safety data sheet. Therefore, these products may only be used in industrial or commercial applications. They are not suitable for domestic (DIY) applications.<\/h4>\n
